The items on this page were all created as part of my experience in Georgetown University's Masters of Professional Studies in Public Relations & Corporate Communications. All except Client Work were developed for assignments rather than the companies. Everything for Client Work was produced as pro bono consultant service to a real nonprofit organization.
COMMUNICATIONS PLAN
As my final project for the Elements of Communication Planning course, I completed a 35 page communications plan responding to a core problem or opportunity identified in an RFP I selected at the beginning of the semester.
The piece was graded on the overall strength of my recommendations, insights, considerations, creativity, persuasive organization, and clarity of writing.
I received a score of 109/110 on this project, with one point taken off for being "too creative." Is that a real thing?
CLIENT WORK
Cause Consulting is a signature course within Georgetown University’s School of Continuing Studies offering students an applied learning experience to work collaboratively in small consulting teams to implement the entire lifecycle of a client engagement for an organization within the social impact sector. It also is an opportunity for students to explore their potential to create positive social impact and apply consulting skills throughout their careers, as they go through a semester-long journey to become a Cause Consultant.
Our team worked with a small nonprofit in Washington, DC, providing them with:
-
new logo and style guide
-
new resident application
-
new concept for their website
-
audience and market research summary
-
investor slide deck
-
interview questions for obtaining storytelling content
-
social media fundraising campaign suggestions
My primary contributions are shown at right, although I did work on the research summary and interview questions as well. The COVID-19 pandemic hit in the middle of the semester, significantly disrupting our plans for our client and the course as a whole as we made the switch to virtual-only engagement and education.
